  • Clear the Air after a grievance

    I've had grievance running against my manager for the last few weeks.
    It's ended.
    The grievance outcome was only partially in my favour. I have decided to end the matter here.

    Now I think I need to go through a CLEAR THE AIR MEETING.

    No one in my work place told me that but I heard it somewhere over the last few weeks.

    How do I go about doing that?

    Do I need a union representative so chair the meeting or a solicitor or HR?
    Or the Regional Manager? Or do me and the manager just sit together and chat without anyone else?

    Those are questions that you should be asking of whoever has invited you to this meeting. You want to know what they have in mind.

    You can google "restorative meetings" - this may be a similar kind of thing.

      Personally, I'd speak to HR and ask if they could facilitate some sort of mediation meeting between yourself and the person you raised the grievance against. You'd need this to be held with a neutral third party present, and there should some record of what was discussed and what was agreed. They may not agreed to it, but it's worth a try.
