  • Early Conciliation

I previously posted about issues if discrimination at work and despite going through the full grievance and appeal process my employer maintains that I have not been discriminated against.

I ensured I logged my issue with acas before the 3 months less one day as I believe I have sufficient evidence to prove the discrimination.

My employer are willing to hear what I would like as early conciliation but honestly I'm really struggling with what to ask for.

Mostly I'd just want an apology and admittance that the behaviour by the managers did amount to discrimination but ACAS advised something like these was unlikely and that's why most agreements end up being money.

If I was assessed in the same way as my colleagues I likely would have got the promotion I applied for, so in terms of money there's wages lost there. But mostly it's just the stress of it all, I was off sick due to their treatment and have been suffering since with persistent anxiety. Throughout the grievance process I was not kept informed of the progress, and I had to keep asking for updates.

I just wondered if anyone could advise on what would be a reasonable request

What potentially ACAS could be directing you towards in terms of monetary compensation is that as you believe you have a discrimination claim is what is called injury to feeling and this is where the Vento bands are used.

Likely you would be looking at the initial banding (having advised on your previous thread) and the range for this is currently £1,100 - £11,700.
If you would like a one-to-one expert consultation with me on your employment issue than I can be contacted by emailing admin@legalbeaglesgroup.com

I do not provide advice by PM although I may on occasion ask you to send me documents this way but any related advice will be provided back on your thread.

I do my best to provide good practical advice, however I do so without liability.
If you have any doubts then do please seek professional legal advice.
