It is about work. It is not about whether or how you are paid. You are misdirecting yourself, as you are by focussing on "employment".

You came here seeking advice. It is up to you what you do with the advice you have been given.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

Thanks for the advice I do appreciate it!

My (non-expert) thinking... If 'work' were the operative word, it would suggest I couldn't carry out any work, whether paid/unpaid or employed/unemployed... I couldn't cut my neighbours grass for free, as this constitutes work... which is why I felt the need to read between the lines and focus on the type of employment.

I'll also seek out advice from an employment law specialist just to get a more detailed/tailored advice too, and I'll bump the thread with whatever I hear back!

      Thanks
