Hi all.
New to this group.
I'm 50 years old and until recently I have never made a claim against anyone.
In January I was diagnosed with occupational asthma which has been linked to my employment (I work in a bakery with flour).
After various GP/hospital appointments I am now using 2 inhalers daily.
Through the work union I instructed a solicitor to proceed with a claim.
After a couple of months I received an email from my solicitor that stated I have "reasonable prospects of proving" my case.
Yesterday my solicitor confirmed he had sent a Letter of Claim to the company and they have approximately 4 months to reply.
As I've never had any legal dealings before I'm new to this.
Is "reasonable prospects" a good sign or not?
Also is there a difference between a Letter of Notification and a Letter of Claim - if so, what?
I've had no indication as to how much my solicitor thinks my claim is worth but in all honesty the fact that I'm now asthmatic has got me down and I'm just trying to get my condition under control and get on with it.
I'm guessing this whole process could take a long time?
Any help/advice is appreciated.
