  • My boss refuses to pay me! Please help

    Hello,

Can someone please help me ?

My boss, who is also my client, employs me as a personal assistant and caregiver. Recently, he started receiving government funding for his care. In April, I took two weeks off due to illness, and during that time, he was placed in a nursing home for respite care. When I returned, something had changed, as he no longer wants to see me or have me care for him. This is peculiar because before he went to the nursing home, he was in tears, afraid that he would lose me when I started my own care business (although he would have had another caregiver, not me). Here's what happened: I submitted my timesheet to Cheshire Centre for Independent Living and also sent a copy to Salvere. These two companies handle direct payments if the service user (my boss) decides not to take on the full responsibility of a £31,000 budget. They handle all aspects, including paying my wages. However, they still operate under the guidance of Lcc and follow their instructions. Typically, I am paid on the 1st of each month, but because May 1st was a bank holiday, I expected to be paid on Friday the 28th of April. However, the payment did not come through to my bank account. I have inquired about the reasons, but nobody is providing any information except Salvere, who informed me that Lcc has stopped payments from leaving the funding account. I am unaware of the reasons behind this decision and have been unable to find any answers. My rent is due today, and I have car payments to make. The company has immobilized my car, making it impossible for me to go grocery shopping. Consequently, there is no food in the house, and my dog is chewing on a plant pot out of hunger. I am unable to pay any bills, including gas and electricity.

I am still desperately seeking a solution for this situation

The company has immobilized my car? For one missed payment? Started a business but has no food in the house after one set of wages unpaid? Something is strange about this post.

Can I also point out that 1 May is in 4 weeks time, and being on a Wednesday will not be a bank holiday this year.

        Troll alert.

Both dates quoted in it are 2023 dates which suggests this unlikely tale has been going around since last year and the troll hasn't been bright enough to update it when repeating it this year. Although these are claimed to be 'recent' events they also haven't noticed that they are referring to April 28th, when they claim they weren't paid, in the past tense as if we were already in May. If it were really true that they haven't received their April 28th pay yet I can easily answer that one - it's only April 10th today!

I've seen troll posts in this style several times before on other forums. Brand new poster comes onto a forum and posts a heart-rending tale of woe that always involves them being in a dire situation - no food, about to be evicted or whatever. To anyone with actual understanding of the alleged situation the details don't sound credible. All attempts to offer advice are met by responses saying the solution offered is impossible.

What I have never worked out is why these trolls do it? Just getting a laugh out of wasting other people's time? Some mental health problem of their own? I don't know, but personally I don't believe a word of what the OP has said.

When rumbled trolls often try to delete their posts to prevent them being discovered if they try to repost elsewhere so saving this copy here for reference.

I have no idea whether the OP is indeed a troll, so I’m not suggesting that the following applies here, but it is not unknown for tales of woe to be posted online in the hope that they solicit some form of financial assistance from a well-meaning good samaritan.
