I had to go on long term sick leave due to workplace related stress (harassment), just a few weeks before my probation period ended. While sick, two days before the probation end date, I received a probation pause letter, saying that a new date would be informed to me when I return to work. I am back, and my line manager said that my entire sickness period will not be taken account to calculate the new probation end date, not only the two days that were remaining when they sent the letter. Can they do this? I am afraid they are going to fire me because I had to go on leave.
