Approximately 2 years ago in my previous job my boss left and I thought I would apply for the role. I was the only applicant until the last minute when someone else applied. The day of the interview was really strange as I was interviewing for a new person on my team with the panel before coming off that Zoom meeting and then jumping back on for my interview with the same panel literally 3 minutes later. I found this a bit of a struggle and didn't give the best interview in my life which was a shame as I was more than capable of doing the job and the people on the panel knew this. Suffice to say the other person got the job and I moved onto new pastures and this was no big deal. I did think it was a bit strange at the time as the guy who got the job didn't have any experience in the industry whereas I had 15 years and had been doing my boss's job for the three months since he left. Once again I put this down to the other guy being better on the day and forgot all about it. Fast forward two years and I am at a meeting with a manager from one of the consortium partners and I was casually asking about the guy who got the job and also about the old head of Department when I was informed that they were actually brother and sister in law. I find this a bit strange as this was never mentioned despite everyone being in their company many times. In fact it didn't come out for a long time and they would always act like they didn't know each other. Now the head of Department wasn't on the interview panel but she could have got a copy of the questions if she wanted and the more I am thinking about this the more I am thinking that I have been cheated a bit here. What are everyone's thoughts? Am I right in feeling aggrieved or should I just chalk it down to experience? Thanks in advance...

It appears from your post that you left the company 2 year ago.
Even if you do feel cheated thee is nothing legally you can do about it now.
