  • Redundancy Advice

Hello, new member here. For nearly 16 years, worked in a Nursing home, we received a poor CQC report, and we're told we couldn't have new residents for 6 months, and all council funded residents had to find another home
We were left with very few residents, and the owner closed the business, and all staff were made redundant
This was in November of last year, as yet, none of us have received wages, holiday pay, or redundancy packages. None of us even received our P45s obviously needed for new employment. As a group, we have instructed employment solicitors to act on our behalf, and have given all information to gov. com
The owner has other businesses, and indeed has ownership of another Nursing home, still trading, not far from our Nursing home. He claims he's insolvent, but a Google search on gov. com shows this is untrue
He's very evasive, many have tried to contact him, but with no reply. I did actually get a reply, and he threatened me with the Police
I would like to know if he is breaking criminal law, as by all evidence he is able to pay
    Thank You

Unfortunately I cannot assist in respect of criminal law, my expertise is in employment issues and I see from your post you already have solicitors engaged on this matter.
If you would like a one-to-one expert consultation with me on your employment issue than I can be contacted by emailing admin@legalbeaglesgroup.com

I do my best to provide good practical advice, however I do so without liability.
If you have any doubts then do please seek professional legal advice.

Yes, but I don't know if he has broken criminal law, that's why I'm asking
Although Solicitors have been engaged, they're taking an age, just wanted some advice on here, was the whole point of me joining, and posting

This is an employment law issues and not a criminal matter.

We can assist on the employment side if you are not getting speedy answers from your solicitor but we would not want to "cut across" any advice you are getting from them.

Just be careful on timescales to bring a claim if this happened in November last year.
