  • Ex-employer recouping course fees

I posted on 15th September regarding my ex-employer writing to me saying I had to repay over paid salary. I worked out that I didn’t owe them anything and had suspicions that they were trying to recoup course costs from me. I have since received an invoice for the exact same amount of money for “course fees.”
I left the company following a restructure and I was no longer able to do the changes in shift pattern they had put me on. I also had it in writing from my line manager that if I left for the reason that I couldn’t do my shifts following the restructure that any courses fees would not be chased. I’ve have this in email form and have taken a photo of it before I left.
my question is, can they still chase me for this money even though I have it writing?

Yes they can chase. But you have evidence which may cause them not to succeed.
