  • 11 months in and at risk of redundancy

I have recently been notified that I am at risk of redundancy after 11 months and that a consultative process has now begun.

    - 4 of us are in the redundancy pool from the team.
    - 4 new roles have been created.

The role which has been advertised internally yesterday is identical from the point of view of the job description. The Job title is the same apart from the words 'UK' added at the end.
Can anyone help me with advice as to if this is legally sound and what my best options are? Thanks in advance.

Follow the process and hope for the best. After 11 months in your are not in much of a position to argue.

What DSLIPPY is saying BARTY is that with less than two years service, they have the right to release you from their employment for any reason, and without fear of repercussion, save for a few very specific circumstances.

Why not go and speak with those in HR and try to find out what's different about the new job compared to your own? There must be a difference somewhere, or they're not happy with your group's performance, otherwise they would surely have simply transferred you all across to the new role. The redundancy process in this instance feels a little like a smoke screen for something else.
