  • Can I sue the company to put me on the 3rd shift for quite a long time?

I am working at a big company (Iowa plant). My title is manager, and my shift is day shift. My department runs 3 shifts a day.
In the middle of this March, the 3rd shift was short of employees. My boss asked me to back up the 3rd shift for a while and I agreed.
But the 3rd shift is too hard to hire and keep employees. I am still work on the 3rd shift now. It is more than 6 months.
My boss took a long-time absence from the middle of this August. (Some problems happened in his branch. the headquarter is still doing the investigation.)
The company assigned another director to take care of his branch temporarily.

According to my original boss requirements, I had to came in ~ 30 minutes earlier every day to communicate with the 2nd shift. According to the new boss requirements, I had to stay late for 30 minutes every day to hold the huddle meetings. I am exempt employee, could not get the overtime pay. But I had to work overtime every day.

The stock price of this company decreases a lot in the past 12 months. It used to require two 90 days PIP to fire an employee. But about 1 month ago, the policy has been changed. Now the employee can be fired during anytime of the PIP.

Now the new director wants to fire me for some small piece of things through PIP. I want to protect my rights.

Can I sue the company to put me on the 3rd shift for quite a long time?
Can I sue the company asks me to work overtime every day, but does not pay overtime salary?

    Thank you very much!
