Hi,
The company I worked for closed the doors last week making everyone redundant.
I worked for the company for 7 years up to mid-November last year. On my final day at the company they offered me a new position, I was due to start with my new employer the following week therefore turning the new role down but said I would let them know how things turn out.
Within the first week at the new job I soon realised it wasn’t for me and the director kept calling to see if I’d changed my mind. I accepted the new role offered at the previous company and rejoined in January as they shut down over Christmas.
I know that employment law states that a break must be within 1 week for continuation to be applicable. However do I have a case to fight for a redundancy payout?
