Hi all,
so I’m looking to see if anyone knows if my current employer is doing something dodgy and are allowed to do this.
We work 5 days Sunday to Thursday 2-10pm, weekly pay on a Friday. This week and next we are working Sunday to Friday with only Saturday off in between the 2x6 day weeks. The dodgy part is, the 2 Fridays we are working are not paid on the pay checks for the weeks we are working them. Instead they’re rolled to the week starting 22nd May. We are working Friday 13th instead of Sunday 22nd and Friday 20th instead of Monday 23rd due to the factory being closed Sunday 22nd to Tuesday 24th. So I’m essentially working for a pay I’ll receive in 3 weeks and 2 weeks respectively.
This has happened in the past too where we worked around 14 days with no time off to get days off around Christmas.
I heard someone say it’s tax fraud? Can anyone describe if this is normal/legal/not breaking any rights etc.
Thanks in advanced.
