Good morning all and thank you for having me?
My name is Steve and I work as a foreman for a horticultural company.
Last week we all received a pay rise, but with great discrepancies.
I have men that work under me at the site that I manage. They have all received an 11% raise (from £9 to £10 p.h), whereas I have received 2% (from £25,500 to 26,010 p.a). I see this as extremely unfair. It may be worth mentioning that I do have a work van that I use to commute, whereas the men whom work under me do not. Either way a 9% difference in raise is still a lot. Adding to this, employees that are paid hourly get a Christmas bonus (paid at their basic weekly wage), whereas I do not.
Where do I stand with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards and thanks in advance
Steve
