    Redundancy Pay

    Hi Legal Beagles!

    Just want to shed some light on the following case.

    ​Over the last 25 months I've been working from home for my UK employer. Now they've asked me back to the office which I refused as I want to stay permanently working from home. So they said I need to hand in my resignation in such case which I did.
    ​​
    Am I eligible for redundancy pay in this case? Been with the company for 4 full years.

    In giving my response I am presumin that pre covid your contractual place of work was the office.

    Unfortunately you would not be entitled to redundancy as unless you come back and say otherwise the job role still requires to be carried out.

      Thank you very much for your quick and clear resoonse, I appreciate that.

      You are absolutely correct, the contract says "company premises in London or elsewhere in the UK if/when required by the business". I assume that last clarification doesn't change much meaning...
