  • Conditional offer of appointment.

Hi I applied for a job passed the interview and was sent an email from their human resources with a letter (conditional offer of appointment) which stated my pay scale and my annual wages.

I have since been to their depot to take in my right to work documents, and the depot operations manager asked for a chat. During which he said he's not happy that I have been offered the highest amount in the pay scale and should be on less.

i was just wondering if now they have made the offer if it can be changed or do they have to honour it?

Thanks for any and all advice.

If you have accepted their offer, then that is it. The fact that someone may not be happy is not important.

As above, provided that you meet the conditions.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

Hi thank you both for taking the time to reply.

So just to be clear even if it is someone at human resources that has made a mistake once the offer has been made and accepted they have to honour it?

If you don't want the job, then don't accept it. You are going to join the firm based on your offer. Stop worrying! Enjoy the new job!
