    Possibly putting staff at risk?

    Hi,
    my colleague messaged the other day that he has a high temperature and might not make it to work tomorrow….advised him to let the manager know and the manager told him if you have no other symptoms you can go into work! I was shocked that the manager would allow such a thing when the nhs website clearly say if you have any of the 3 covid symptoms to get a pcr test done. Surely the manager was incorrect for this and is this something HR should know about?

    I would suggest that you tackle this a slightly different way and speak to HR asking whether the company policy is for anyone displaying any Covid syptoms having to take a lateral flow test / PCR test before coming back to work. The answer to that question can then lead you to explaining that if that is the policy they maybe need to remind all managers and staff. If that is not the policy would HR consider making it one.
