Job being downgraded
After Job advert colleague at another school (part of Trust) questioned why the grade was higher than her role. At our secondary school we have a sixth form and entails much more work but the trust had an external audit grade match done. The trust had used the excuse that other schools had the role at the lower grade and future employees would be at the lower grade. This week a job advert at another Trust was advertised at the higher grade but management would not take this into consideration. It so frustrating as the CEO, Headteacher and Business Manager all agree that she should be on the higher grade, But HR have said that the trust have to go with the reports findings thus the role must be downgraded. Union rep has advised to file for grievance, but she doesn't want to cause trouble. Is there anything else she can do? is the report even legally binding? Much appreciate any advise.
