I have just been told by a colleague that one of our colleagues has been watching the CCTV and questioned him about something.
The CCTV covers the car park outside the office.
The person in question (A) approached my colleague (B) to ask why he had gotten into my car for 2 mins 33 seconds. On the day in question, A was on annual leave so must have been watching the CCTV remotely. A is not my manager or B's manager. We both report to different people.
There is no indication of any wrongdoing, he merely just asked as it isn't a normal occurrence in our jobs. (He was showing me an issue with his car, I am a petrolhead)
He also questioned a few other colleagues about the time they spent talking in the car park to other people, the times they are coming and going etc, their cigarette breaks... A is the manager of those people.
Is this legal? I feel a bit violated. I didn't even know the cameras were there until the other day.
