  • Vaccine coercion

    Hello

I am after some advice please.

As a company we pay full sick pay we are now launching a policy which states if you haven’t been vaccinated or only had one vaccine and become sick due to covid then you will only be able to receive SSP.

Legally how can this be justified? We will have claims under protected characteristics but where do we stand on the simple matter of individual choice.

This looks very much like coercion on behalf of the company.

Any advice welcomed here before the release of it.

I suppose It's how you sell the policy, i.e. Health and Safety dictates that you have to protect all employees (their families too), this is one way of making sure that you are doing it and protecting everyone. It costs the company nothing which is good for company and employees.
