  • Disability pay gap and evidence of manager lying

In 2015 I came across an advert by my employer advertising for someone doing the same role as myself but with a higher wage. I immediately questioned with my manager why I would not receive the same pay for ‘like work’. I was told via email which I still have the advert was a mistake and was personally assured new recruits would not be paid more than myself. I didn’t think anything more about it until 2019 when I was talking to a recent recruit about our wages. He was receiving the amount I witnessed on the advert in 2015 which was still considerably more than my wage even now.

Fast forward to 2019: I first brought it up with my manager to be told that they can pay staff new recruits more than existing staff, the manager had seemed to forget about the email in 2015, I then I brought it up with HR and they advised I raised a grievance which I did. The grievance was not upheld for the reasons: I'm slower (no evidence), I don't work on less complex pieces of work (no evidence). I was supposed to be given a reasonable adjustment to have more time. It's like the person dealing with the grievance didn't;' know about the reasonable adjustments.

The time to lodge a grievance appeal has now elapsed.

The fact that I was lied to 2015 and just fobbed off since really annoys me. Is there anyway to get any redress?

    Other info:

Another aspect is that between 2014 and 2018 I had not received any appraisal’s where my contract states I should receive one each year and pay increases will be reviewed at the time. I have evidence of myself asking for appraisals just to be fobbed of. In 2019 I did receive an appraisal.

In 2018 I was put on a PIP which I was persecuted and bullied which let me to tell my employer I was dyslexic which ended the PIP and I received reasonable adjustments for, like extra time.
