Hi, I have an odd situation hence the post...
I had a meeting today at 9am over the internet to be formally told I was being made redundant, they also told us they would contact us back with a proposal the same day.
At approx 4pm I noticed I'd had a phone call on my mobile at 2:27pm but missed it as I was otherwise occupied and although I was in my house I didn't have my mobile phone near me. I called the number back and was told they had rung to make an alternative offer which would have seen me finish without having to work notice but be paid a slightly reduced amount, it was an offer of 11 weeks pay instead of 12 weeks.
The deadline for this offer was... 3:30pm today, If, I had actually heard the call, that would have given a framework of 67mins to call bob the union rep for advice; which was the advice given by my supervisor when I called back after noticing the missed call*, then for bob to actually answer my call or get back to me before the 3:30pm deadline, for me to call my supervisor back to accept the offer, who would in turn email Notts County Council with our decision.
But, Bob would have been unavailable at this time because he would have been picking his children up from school.
*There were no subsequent avenues of contact after the initial call at 2:27pm like my home phone which I actually would have heard.
Thank you for your time and responses.
