New job offer/existing job notice periodired but I wan

Hi.

I entered into a contractor's agreement with a company a month and a half ago, they provide me with enquiries to answer and pay me per enquiry, the pay isn't great. The contract states I have to give 4 weeks'notice.

I've just been approached by another company with an offer I absolutely can't refuse - it's my dream job, basically, and more than double the pay. But they need me to start right away.

Daft question time: can I breach my existing contract by leaving immediately without incurring any consequences?

I'd be really grateful for some help! I'd hate to lose this amazing opportunity.

The ultimate action that the company you signed the agreement with could take is to make a claim against you for breach of contract.

Do you know what that would involve? For example, could they take me to court?

The compay would have to show that they have suffered loss resulting from your breach of contract by not giving the requisite notice. They would then need to pursue a claim via the cour to recoup the losses.

I think the view that you have to take is whether this company would be likely to pursue a claim and/or could they show that they have suffered a loss by you not giving the required notice. So one thing to consider is did you answer a lot of enquiries and were they such that the company charged the person making the enquiry for the answer from which you were given a %?
