Hi,
I have a question regarding a clause in my contract.
there is stated that:
the 3 months of the employment will be a probationary period, during which the Employee’s performance will be monitored. The probationary period may be extended by the company. During the probationary period this employment may be terminated by either party by giving one week’s notice to the other party in writing.
The Employee will be informed in writing whether she has successfully completed her probationary period.
Now, my contract is already going for 6 months but I haven’t received any sort of confirmation, written on spoken, that the probationary period was successfully finished.
As my company is making our whole department redundant in November, my contract will not be prolonged and I want to end the employment as soon as possible.
I gave my notice with 10 days to the date I want to leave. But my HR lady called me and practically bullied me, saying it doesn’t matter they haven’t informed me about ending probationary period. I still have to have a month notice, as if I finished the probation successfully. Even though no one spoke a word to me about that.
can they do that and force me to work through a month notice?
many thanks for the advice!
