  • Furlough

I am a Full time contractor, currently on furlough, in April I was contact by my company and told that I would be put on furlough from 1 may to the end of June, after which they will be terminating my contract by the 24th of July, this was sent thru a letter, the furlough was sent thru Docusign.
I was contacted again on the 29th June, a docusign was sent informing me that my furlough will be extended till the end of Oct (my original contract end date), I call my line manager 10days later to discuss any tax implications only to be told that this was a mistake and that my contact will still end on the 24th of July. Can this be right?

Sorry i need to ask a few more questions:

Can you clarify are you on a fixed term contract?
If so when did the contract start?
Was there an early termination clause in the contract? If so please can you post it up here, ensuring it is anonymised.
In the first round of correspondence was it anticipated that you would go back to work between end of June and when your contract was to be terminated on 24th July.

    Many thanks
