    Hi all!
    This week my employer has announced that a maximum of 10 days can be carried over to 2021/22. 5 days to be used in 2021 and 5 days in 2020. And we can only book 15 days off of 25 days entailment this year. Its this legal. Can they force us to have only 15 days off this year?

    Due to issues faced because of COVID-19 the government has passed emergency legislation to ensure businesses have the flexibility they need to respond to the coronavirus pandemic and to protect workers from losing their statutory holiday entitlement. These regulations enable workers to carry holiday forward where the impact of coronavirus means that it has not been reasonably practicable to take some or all of their statutory 4 weeks holiday in the leave year to which it relates.

    Where it has not been reasonably practicable to take some or all of the 4 weeks’ holiday due to the effects of coronavirus, the untaken amount may be carried forward into the following 2 leave years. This is giving employers the opportunity to respond to the needs of their business and the effect and impact that COVID-19 has had, which may have also impacted a business’s ability for staff to take holiday.
