    Hi.Ive just joined this forum and im looking for help regarding Tupe as our small company is being taken over in the next few weeks.
    Maybe someone could point me in the right direction please on where to post my questions.

    "Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

        Hi.
        The company I work for has been sold to a larger company which will take place in 3 weeks time.
        I believe the "Tupe"rules will apply but not sure what the new company can or cant do.
        I just have a couple of questions please,
        1,We have all had an email saying that our start/finishing times may change from May 1st.
        2,Can my hourly rate be reduced.
        3,Is it within the Tupe law for them to make a few of us redundant because they do not want all of us.

          Hi, and thanks for the questions which I can answer as follows:

          1. When you TUPE to a new company you do so on your existing terms and conditions of employment. Do you know what the start and finishing time changes may be and how much difference there is to what you currently do.
          2. Your salary/wage which is a term and condition of your employment should not change on being transferred to the new company.
          3. Yes the new company can undertake a redundancy process once you have transferred, if it has more employees than it needs to carry out the work. However they still need to follow a fair redundancy process.
