  • Discriminated for having special need child

I started working for a big retail company* last year. When i started the job,i informed the company that i have a special need child and my working hours might be limited. They said they can accommodate me,I am available to work full day Saturday and Sunday, and week day Mon-Fri from 8:00AM-2:00PM. They now saying i am not flexible* with my hours and need to improve this. I am just puzzled by that as they accommodate all the time to students works at the store. i feel like they are picking on me for have a child with disability. They are telling me i need to improve this. They know i can't. It really upset me.

Have you heard about discrimination by association?

Given that you had explained the situation when you joined the company have they explained to you why they cannot continue to accommodate your availability?

Did they speak to you in a meeting it would just be useful to get some background as to how they have approached this with you.*
