  • Legal proceedings against non-disciplinary action

I am a high school teacher, and recently I was in a threatening situation. Though I was simply trying to help, it was interpreted entirely different. I was trying to stop a kid from hurting others. But he, as well his parents accused me of assaulting him. The school believed him, of course, with the huge donations they give, the authorities would have turned a blind eye on this. The parents got a restraining order against me, and the school placed me on a non-disciplinary paid administrative leave for a year. I want to get out this somehow, I want to hire the best criminal defence lawyers in GTA. But I am having a tough time choosing a lawyer (link removed) who is efficient and reliable. I don't want to work in that school again, only I want clear, of all charges. Do you guys have any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

As you're in Canada you likely want to talk to a local lawyer, we're UK based. Maybe the ones you linked to in your post. ( I have removed the link btw).

You don't mention if you are being charged with assault by the police or whether it is being dealt with simply as a disciplinary matter with your employer?
