I have recently been advised that the company I work for is relocating out of the area and are offering redundancy or we can move with the company. I received my redundancy letter confirming the amount I would receive and a day later I was advised that the amount was incorrect I was given a revised letter and the amount was 50% less. Do I just have to accept the 2nd letter?

Have you worked for the company for more than 2 years?
Does you company just pay statutory redundancy pay or have they offered and enhanced package.
If you have worked for more than 2 years and you are being paid the statutory payment then you can confirm your calculation of what you are due here.

What they have to do is honour at a minimum a statutory redundancy or a calculations which agrees with any enhanced package formula they have proposed and is applied accordingly. If the second calculation is in accordance with either of those then I think you may just have to accept probably human error when setting up the formulas in the spreadsheet.
I presume that other people who received the same first letter as you and calculated incorrectly will have received a second letter. If you would like a one-to-one expert consultation with me on your employment issue than I can be contacted by emailing admin@legalbeaglesgroup.com
