- I started with the company back in 2013 and did my apprenticeship, started on hours 08:00-16:00 which i agreed to change a year into employment to 07:00-15:00.
- Qualified in 2016.
- In 2017 about half a year after finishing my apprenticeship i got asked if i could work shift pattern 06:00-14:00 Week A and 14:00-22:00 Week B, I refused as I was sure that my personal life would take a downfall. I was told that by not doing it i will have no future in the company.
- In 2018 my new manager asked if i could change shifts again, i offered a compromise along the lines of : trying the shift pattern to see if i can organise my life around it. ( Never saw or signed a contract to confirm anything. )
- After 2 months of doing it everything went downhill, consulted the manager and told him ill need to go back onto 07:00-15:00 as its not working out very well.
To which manager laughed at my face and said 'well it's working out for me ' followed by informing me that i have been doing it for 3 weeks so its common practice now and it is my new contract even though i hadn't signed or agreed to that. - Informed HR department via phone call and expressed how unhappy i am and formally via email informed the line manager and said that i wish to go back to doing the hours that i was originally doing.
- shortly after, regional manager came and expressed that there is not a day-shift position at my workplace ( funny that i've been doing the day-shift position for last 4.5 years )
- this stressed me out a lot but i got approached by a company in the same business offering me hours 08:00-16-00 on permanent basis which i agreed to
- gave my company 4 weeks notice
- week after i gave notice i had number of phone calls from old manager asking not to leave promising things will change
- following week manager got dismissed
- regional manager asked me not to leave and promised to have me on a day-shift between hours of 06:00-16:00 within 3 months (got the email) I then decided to decline the job i was offered at another company
- carried on working for 3-4 months, in the end compromised and agreed to 06:00-14-00A and 10:00-18:00B - i was on the understanding that this issue was now solved and i had a secure job within the business.
- just under a year later regional manager had a meeting with me and told me i will need to go on shifts or be made redundant which is 'not what he wants'.
- week later i get a letter proposing a 30 day consultation period basically telling me the only job i can have are on contracted hours of 06:00-15:00A 15:00-24:00B if i don't accept then redundancy is on the cards.

In the consultation letter did it state the reason why your role was under potential threat of redundancy? Will there be no day-time shifts worked for the role that you carry out?

So the other two people who work on days have not been given the same letter?
I presume the people on the late/night shift are being moved to or already work 15:00 to 24:00. Are the 3 of you working day shifts being asked to move to 06:00 to 15:00? Is this something you would want to do?If you would like a one-to-one expert consultation with me on your employment issue than I can be contacted by emailing admin@legalbeaglesgroup.com
