Hi,
My employer charges for parking at work based on earnings, i.e. the more you earn the more you pay. This isn't as a direct percentage of earnings, but in bands. The cost of parking for a year ranges from £44 to £375 in about 5 bands. This would seem to be a tax to me, and I thought only the government was allowed to collect taxes. So my question is whether this is legal? I would be grateful if anybody knows and if it is illegal which part of the law makes it illegal.
