Hi,
New to the forum and would appreciate thoughts on the following situation.
My employee has announced plans for sizeable redundancies >20 possibly > 100.
I believe I will/am being considered, I have been employed by them for > 10 years and have 3 months notice, I’m 42. I think I will be offered an enhanced package (though nothing is certain). Nominations for employee representatives close in a week so I assume people will be put at risk soon. In parallel to this my wife is pregnant and due in 6 months I was considering taking shared parental leave of up to 6 months (my company offers full pay in line with their normal maternity package), I was wondering if given the potential redundancy situation and possible ‘maternity protection or benefit from additional payments, if there is benefit to informing my employee or requesting shared paternity now or the fact that it’s a least 6 months away makes it irrelevant given my motive period. I would be interested to hear people thoughts of this situation?
Many thanks
