Hello,
I have gone through the whole process of following a grievance procedure, sending in letters and meeting with the employer arranged through the ACAS concilliator.
I reached the final step and sent the ET1 form to the employment tribunal.
This has all been within the time limits and upon the ET1 form being received online by the Employment Tribunal I have received an automatic confirmation email.
The email says what happens next:
However, I waited for 4 weeks without hearing anything back and decided to phone the tribunal office to check on the case.
After very long and persistent calls my query was answered that they are behind working/processing earlier cases (i.e. mid January).
I was told that I should expect a call within 3 weeks.
I have awaited a further 5 weeks since then and still haven't heard anything back.
In total it has been 9 weeks since I submitted the ET1 form online.
Can anyone advise if this is normal and what I should prepare to say before phoning to check again?
I want to make sure my request on the progress is answered thoroughly and not disregarded.
Normally I seek advice from the Citizens Advice Bureau but I need to be prepared for the worst case scenario, i.e. institunational error, etc.
Thank you

- A copy of the claim will be sent to the respondent. They’ll have 28 days to reply.
- We’ll contact you when we’ve sent your claim to the respondent and explain the next steps.
