  • Is this legal/fair (nhs politics)

Hi all, I’m after some advice in relation to my current position at work. My caseload area within the nhs has been changed and a new team developed. There were no formal interviews but those colleagues have changed their employment contracts to join the new team. Another position has become available and 3 of us expressed an interest but this was also not widely offered to any other staff. Without any interviews the head of our department decided who would get those new positions which will involve a change in their employment contracts. I feel this is unfair and unjust as those given the position are more familiar/ friendly with the head of department. Do I have any legal position for complaint or should I just walk away and continue in my current role? Many thanks for any responses

There is no legal grounds upon which you can complain. However, is there any policy in place about advertising jobs internally and interviewing suitable candidates, if so then a possible course of action could be to raise a grievance about not following internal policies, although you may want to do this on an informal basis first.
If you would like a one-to-one expert consultation with me on your employment issue than I can be contacted by emailing admin@legalbeaglesgroup.com

I do not provide advice by PM although I may on occasion ask you to send me documents this way but any related advice will be provided back on your thread.

I do my best to provide good practical advice, however I do so without liability.
If you have any doubts then do please seek professional legal advice.
