  • Haven't heard from my Solicitor in a week?

I spoke to a Solicitor last week re a potential grievance against a colleague. He gave me some telephone advice on how to prepare for the meeting with management.

I emailed him after the meeting and he said he would prepare further advice. There were some developments after that and a second meeting with management.

He hasn't replied to any of my emails for almost a week and I'm considering finding someone else.

No idea why this may be?

    Hi Fmsthrowaway,
Have you formally instructed the solicitor, so signed client care letter and provided money on account of costs yet? If not this may be why. Many law firms will not commence any work until client's have formally instructed them, provided the necessary ID checks and provided money on account of the costs quoted (or whatever other arrangement you make with them).
If you have formally instructed them then maybe try chasing them by phone (&e-mail)?
I am a qualified solicitor and am happy to try and assist informally, where needed.

Any posts I make on LegalBeagles are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as legal advice. Any practical advice I give is without liability. I do not represent people on the forum.

If in doubt you should always seek professional face to face legal advice.

Completely ghosted. Nothing from him or his firm regarding formal instructions. No replies to emails and no phone messages being returned

        Hi again,
With the strict time limits affecting employment claims I would consider exploring other employment solicitors. They will require all client care documentation is dealt with prior to undertaking any work and some money on account I expect.

yep, have a meeting with a new Solicitor tomorrow. I'm just amazed that someone who is a Partner in their firm would act like this
