  • Spanish surnames issue in contract

Hi and thank you all in advance,

I'm a Spanish individual who has been living in the UK for 3 years now. I´m about to start a new job and have received the contract by post. When I looked at it, I have realised that instead of my two surnames (in Spain and Portugal we have two surnames instead of just one) they have only written my second one.
Do you think I could have any type of legal problem in the future due to this? I'm a bit worried about documents I might need to provide in case we have issues with Brexit or if one day I ask for permanent residency. I´ve heard that my employment is linked to my NIN and, if my name is correct in there, there shouldn't be any issues, but this came from non-proffesional advice.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks again.

They may have mistaken your first surname as a middle name and thus only used your first and last name - I doubt it would be a problem - you've given them your correct NI and evidence of employment would be a letter confirming such ( length of service, type of contract ( permanent/temporary etc) and salary) and your PAYE/NI records rather than your contract, but for your peace of mind maybe simply contact your employer and tell them that they appear to have missed off your full surname and ask if they can correct it so you can get it signed and returned to them.
