Cojoined case

Hello everyone. Im looking for advice

I have a claim going through court and the store i am taking to court have said they have another similar case. they want the two cases to be cojoined. i dont like the idea - i want to fight this by myself.
what exactly does it mean to cojoin the case - do we have to agree on courses of action. might i be forced into action i dont want. Do i have to cojoin if i dont want to? thanks

This is not something I have heard of. I know about situations where a group of employees themselves have decided to bring a joint claim against the company but not the company requesting it.

My concern would be how similar are the cases in actuality and what timescales are each running to?

I would suggest a call to ACAS, they will not be able to provide legal advice but they may be able to say whether what the employer is requesting is a legitimate course of action.
