I know someone who is being investigated at work. They gave a whole pile of information to the investigating manager. The investigating manager passed it onto another manager, who has acted on some of the information to try and build up the case for the first investigating manager by quizzing his own line employees for additional info.
Is this allowed? I presume it is, as it can be said to be all part of the "bigger case". But I just thought I would ask in case there is also a rule on "confidentiality", i.e. anything you say to an investigating manager should not be shared by the latter with others.
I would be grateful if anyone knows for sure, thanks.
