Hi, I contracted to a company for 2 years, then they made me permanent in a senior management position. Immediately upon being made permanent my boss and their boss 'left the company'.
Three months later there was a re-org and I was told that somebody else was being brought in to do my job, but with a subtly different job title, so they needed to find something else for me. They gave me a smaller role reporting into that person. 5 months later that person was replaced with another contractor, and i remained doing a lesser role. 18 months later another re-org and my function was moved down the organisation, so effectively demoting myself and peers under the contractor in relation to previous peers.
I also did a MA in this time, and the organisation created a Job Families framework, my skills are aligned to the senior role, yet 6 Months later, another re-org, and another demotion, as I'm now told that I will report into a far more junior person than myself, while my peers will report directly into the new head of department.
What can I do, I'm losing the ability to keep my held held high and not let this company break me and my confidence.
