Would be grateful for some informed opinions please. If an instant dismissal for behaviour "tantamount to gross misconduct" was in the main based on breaching H&S rules, but said behaviour was in company of others who did not see the risk/ask them to stop/report through usual channels, at what point would you expect this risk/breach to be communicated to the remaining staff?
Am rather uneasy that the incident was two days before colleage was warned behaviour was unacceptable - despite an instant reporting protocol in place - another three working days until investigation, then another two full days since dismissal, and staff have still not had it put to them that what they saw was so grave the colleague needed sacking immediately for it. It is behaviour that the now departed colleague advised was widespread throughout the team, therefore posing plenty of risk of further incidents, so if serious enough to warrant that action surely it should have been discussed and logged by now?
(To be clear no injuries were sustained by anyone)
