  • Overdales/Lowell’s/EE

I have received a letter from Overdales re a supposed debt with EE passed onto them by Lowell’s for £173.81
it says unless I pay this I will have legal proceedings against me resulting in a total cost of £286.98.
I had been with EE for many years (and Orange previously), with a mobile contract paying for several phones. However, in Oct 2020 I didn’t want another phone and went on a sim plan of £12 p.m. I had also contacted EE on many occasions due to loss of signal caused by them decommissioning masts. This was never sorted. When I had rang EE to set this up I specifically asked if this tied me to a contract and was told it didn’t. I paid this by direct debit for 4 months to Jan 2021, but in the meantime changed my account to Sky as their service/signal was better. As soon as I requested my puk code to transfer, my online EE account became unavailable, and I contacted EE and cancelled my direct debit. Since then I have had letters from Lowell’s and I contacted them to tell them there was no debt, they didn’t want to know and told me to contact EE, but EE told me it was out of their hands now.
im also not sure why £173.01 was outstanding, even at £12 p.m. this was 14 months plus ???
So I feel I’m going round in circles and am going to get a CCJ for something I don’t owe!
    What should I do please?

Firstly, send Lowell's (copy to Overdales) a general dispute letter. At this time don't highlight the reasons for the dispute. Proof of Postage.

Secondly, send EE a Subject Access Request, they will send you all the details on the account, they have 30 days. Make sure you get Proof of Postage.

Update the thread once you get feedback on your letters.
