  • Cabot already placed default on cra yet cannot confirm debt is mine

Received a letter form CABOT saying "thanks for your letter dated XXXX" but knew nothing of any letter being sent to them.

So as I was bored an needed to give someone the run around I thought I should phone CABOT regarding this letter and alledged debt they say I owed. (I know people say dont phone them but I needed to pep up my friday morning and target was on CABOT!) It turns out that their letter is a rely about a letter I sent to a firm called FIRE whom supposedly where their agents and as I had sent a letter basically telling them they are clearly a 3rd party and to butt out it came back to CABOT.

So.... during the convo with the lady at CABOT after asking what the letter was on about - (it had references to invoices I had apparently sent them and International Trade Finance etc - all of which I knew nothing about so I am presuming its a std template letter they spew out) it turns out that a Notice of Assignment was sent to a former address of mine - one which I had not lived at in nearly 20years.

Alarm bells started ringing as 1) I have never had a contract with Vodafone and 2) they had sent the DOA out to another address.

So what is the best course of action here?

I have also noted they placed a default on my credit reference file! Cheeky barstewards!

Now Ive no idea what this debt is and it just seems that CABOT have traced me (her words not mine) to my home address and she demanded I tell here when I moved!

I am happy to go to town on them as I enjoy toying with DCA's it makes the days pass quicker!

Any suggestions what I should be asking for in my letter to follow up the call?

Could you say you're bored again, and could they come around with all the queen's horses and all the queen's men, put you against the wall and threaten to shoot you, or otherwise bore you to death with reference numbers while your toast burns?

You should be asking them to prove you actually owe them something, see this ---> http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...9479#post59479
