I'll get someone else to have a look in at your thread , see what they advise.

Great Wendy, thanks! Just so you know, I have done a SAR and CCA to Citi last year.

I think I need to do it for CAbot now. Thanks for helping me so far...x

Also, by stopping payments entirely, Tya would risk being taken to court, where the onus would be on her to prove uneforceability, which as we all knwo, in the present climate, can be difficult. So could ultimately end up with a CCJ etc etc, which would make matters worse than they are now and trash the credit file even more.

Thanks for the post anyway. I won't make any comment about CAG being well respected or not. We have excellent threads/stickies on here covering CCA, and some very good resident CCA specialists (of which I am not one lol).
Thank you! I think I need you as my mentor to teach me on here. You keep constructively putting me right as I start my enormously steep learning curve. Thanks for your help - please keep it up! I'm finding all this really interesting.

Dom't know if this helps or not - or just confuses matters for you - apologies
          if it does.

Cabot bought two of my debts around 9 years ago.
I can't even remember who the original creditors were.
I paid token amounts for around 6 years via a debt management plan.

Then in 2007 when I was getting to breaking point I discovered
forums like Debt Questions, then CAG and then Leagle Beagles.
I cca'd Cabot in 2007, they couldn't produce the cca, so I stopped paying
as the accounts were in dispute, and I've never paid them since.
Only problem I've had from them was around a year ago when I had a letter
from their legal dept saying they'd take me to court if I didn't pay them.
I reminded them that accounts was in dispute, and haven't heard from them since then.

On another debt matter, last week, an entry on my credit file was changed from Citi TO Cabot. Cabot haven't contacted me yet over this 'new' debt but it's only a matter of time.
I read recently that Cabot have bought a lot of Citi's unenforceable debt.
This particular debt has been in dispute for 4 years.
Citi originally gave/sold it to Capquest. However Capquest returned it to
Citi 4 years ago as "Citi couldn't find a cca".
Now it appears Cabot have it. When Cabot contact me about it, I'll send
them the dispute letter. I won't pay them a penny. If they threaten court action I'll let them take me to court.

            Hi,

Thanks for this info. My Citi debt is not statute barred, I defaulted last year and did a SAR and CCA to Citi and got them.

Don't have an issue paying the debt, but rather annoyed at the fact that CAbot have not supplied me with the CCA and are adding interest at an alarming rate as it was frozen with Citi.

Cabot have agreed to £1 a month, but I need to stop the interest as im not working. ( even if I was working, the debt would be there for the rest of my life!).

If you no how to stop the interest please let me know.
