  • Cabot threatening 14 days until legal action

    First off hi everyone ☺️

OK so the last 2 years have been pretty rough for most of us and unfortunately about a year ago i was struggling so much with bills due to covid fallout ie reduced working hours etc and the cost of living crisis i just completely stopped paying and just ignored everything up until now.
I have lost count of the amount of letters I've ignored and mostly they all just stopped or come at me with baseless threats all except cabot.
I have started receiving countdown letters/emails saying 14 days until they start legal action.

The debt is for £2700 aqua credit card.

I have messaged them this evening acknowledging their email and basically said do you have any proof of the supposed debt I apparently owe etc. Was this a wrong move?

if i had any spare income i would actually just pay them but im living week to week at the moment, i have 5 children under 16 and a fiance that i provide for off 1 wage and due to work getting quieter over the last 2 years i am earning about £12000 a year less compared to 2 years ago when things were good financially.

So that's the rough situation I'm in. Did I do the right thing contacting them?

I guess I have been reluctant to reply to any off their calls and letters due to the reviews online about them (not the fake reviews lol)

Any help/info would be hugely appreciated, i suffer from chronic anxiety and this matter is taking its toll on me to be honest.

    Thanks
