  • Egg / cabot

Ok, bit of a weird one and id appreciate advice.

in 2008, i tried to claim PPi from Egg, they sent a letter back saying that i didnt have PPI

Cabot are still chasing me for the debt and i recently complained and they sent all the original documents through, one of which is the original loan agreement, that does show that it does indeed contain PPI

    what can i do?

    Hi TEHBOO

    Welcome to LB

Have you got the letter from 2008?

Was your complaint to Egg regards PPI? If it was, depending on what their response is, if you aren't happy with it and you still have the letter from 2008 lodge a complaint with the FOS, as they have mislead you.

There was a deadline for claiming PPI, 29th August 2019, that has now passed.

But that doesn't mean you can't do anything about it.

Have you sent Egg a Subject Access Request?, they may only provide data for the last 6 years, but well worth seeing what comes back.

      Does Egg still exist?
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

Not as it was previously, it's more of a Barclays

        It's part of Barclays.

That refers to savings and mortgage accounts having been transferred, with no mention of credit card accounts.

Yes, you are correct, Barclays Bank bought the Egg Credit Card business in 2011.

              Hey

thanks for the advice, yes I still have the letter from 2008 & the credit agreement that clearly shows PPI.

I have raised a complaint with the FOS as suggested, I recently complained to cabot about the debt and they sent everything, including the original loan agreement and Eggs PPI notes.

What the FOS may say, is that you should complain to Barclays first, before you complain to them. But wait and see what they say, as you've complained to them (FOS).
