December 2020 I received a letter threatening to take me to court for a debt of just under £1500. They claimed they had been sending letters since June 2019, but I just moved back to this address in March 2020.
I accepted their claim and asked for time to pay (approx 327 days). I am currently a full-time student, there are literally no jobs nearly everywhere but hospitals are operating at a limited capacity.
I heard nothing back, for 2 months, then today they sent an Incidental Applications Order stating (I'm paraphrasing) they were unable to lodge the Time to Pay notice on time (Jan 27th) and this was due to an error and now they want to court to accept their time to pay notice. Basically, they are saying they reject my time to pay application.
What can the court do? I literally have no money. I proposed 327 days because I graduate in September, and may have a job by December.
I plan to reject their Time to pay notice, but I also want to settle this out of court. I did call Cabot in January to pay £800 from my mum and the rest later, but they rejected it. So what can I do? I cannot have a decree on my file or else I will never get a job after graduating.
