  • Shall I get Ombudsman involved with Cabot pestering

    Hi all,

About 18 months ago I made a CCA request to Cabot regarding a debt they claimed they now had control over, but to which I believed was statute barred.

They didn't respond within their allocated time, and they still haven't, yet they still continue to send me reminders that the debt is outstandind (and would I like a 75% deduction).

I'm sick of receiving their letters and was wondering if I could contact the financial ombudsman to intervene.

I was thinking to make a new CCA request, and assuming they ignore that one too, use both requests as evidence that they do not have authority over the debt.

    Any advice welcome.

    Thanks.

Have you told cabot you consider the debt to be time barred ?

When did the debt default and have you ever paid anything since ?
