Pretty much. As before really depends how stressed you are with it. There's no threat of action in it at all so I suspect they know it's time barred anyway. Ignore - you will get more letters but think unless it's really worrying you you're safe to ignore unless it's a pre-action letter saying they're taking it to court.

I doubt it. Did you write back to them in the end? If they are starting to call you it may well be worth writing and saying it's stat barred and communication only in writing please etc. WIll help you draft something if you like.#staysafestayhome

hi no i didnt write anything as i didnt have anymore letters, i was making a small payhment back in 2014 as they scared me with threats but i stopped that as i didnt see why i was making payments for somthing i didnt use and cancelled. so i really dont know where i stand.

That's fine - refer to section 29 of the Limitation Act 1980
section 29
a current period of limitation may be repeatedly extended under this section by further acknowledgments or payments, but a right of action, once barred by this Act, shall not be revived by any subsequent acknowledgment or payment.
basically, this means if there was 6 years between your default/last payment and when you felt threatened into starting payments, it doesn't change the statute barred status.
You signed up and cancelled 12 years ago, so 2006/7, then in 2014 you made some payments - it was already 7/8 years old at that point and therefore already statute barred - so section 29 can be relied on that those payments did not remove the statute barred status.#staysafestayhome

They're threatening you that they will continue to contact you....that's not scary.
Would you feel better responding to them now ?
Read back through this thread - hopefully it will help - and it's fine to email me a copy of the letter if it helps to have another eye over it - amethyst1664@hotmail.co.uk ( or admin@legalbeagles.info but that's gone a bit spammy and things keep ending up in junk )#staysafestayhome

Hi thank you. I'm not sure I don't think I want anything to do with them but I keep thinking if I write it may carry on for a long time but if I ignore them hopefully they'll realise and go away. So you don't think this letter is anything to worry about?

You will continue getting letters and phone calls - you can do something now to deal with it - or you can ignore and panic each time you hear anything and hope they don't escalate to court.
How about first sending a subject access request to Barclays partner finance so at least you'll know what info is held ?
