  • Suing barrister

I am currently looking to sue my barrister for failing to represent my case correctly.

My insurer wants to know when the barrister was appointed. Given that my solicitor appointed him, when does my contract with the solicitor begin?

Is it when the solicitor told me he was represnting me or when I first interacted with him (in the morning just before the court case)

    Thanks

How is it that you only interacted with the solicitor the morning before the case? Criminal / civil?

Civil. It was an employment tribunal. I guess my union were unwilling to pay for his time prior to the Et

Probably when the solicitor said he was representing you. Do you have an engagement letter from the solicitor? This might be called a 'client care letter'.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.
